Spring Racing Carnival - Event Sign-Ups

Non-LMB bands are welcome to play in concert slots where LMB-affiliated bands aren't interested in playing. If we get close to the event date without sign-ups, I'll ask for musicians in the LOTRO forums.

Duties:
* Host - Take sign-ups, enforce the rules, answer questions, run the event.
* Race course judge - Stand at your assigned checkpoint, watch and take screenshots of the riders as they pass you, especially the first half-dozen.
* Backup judge - Cover for a race course judge who doesn't show or has a bad lag spike.
* Bookie - Encourage spectators to /tell you the name of the one rider they think will win the race, draw a name randomly from the list of people who guess correctly, tell the host who to give the prize to.
* Event musicians - Play music during the slow times of an event, such as when the host explains the rules to the contestants, when the votes are tallied, and so forth.
* Horse parade riders - Put together an outfit to match each rare horse you can ride during the parade, ride in a slow circle around town square on queue.
* Concert musicians - The usual!

I am not signing up yet since I don't know if I will be in the big race or not :) I plan on racing each event to try to qualify. If I qualify I will volunteer at the other races. If I don't then I will be happy to help judge the big race!

First - I'm happy to assist with any events AFTER I've completed my qualification! :)

Ideally, that'd be sometime this upcoming saturday, so *ideally*, I'd be available for judging either of the two saturday qualification races, provided that's not a conflict of interest

Secondly - I'm also available to display a variety of steeds for the horse parade - I'm sure you'll be asking for a list of what people have, but quickly, I've got all the basics, I *think* I have all the festival steeds, and a handful of the specials (including the white and green skele steeds) and reps

Thirdly - I'm also available to announce during the parade, if you need me, but I'm more than happy to leave it to you - consider me a stand-in if something goes wrong, but if you've got your heart set on it, I say take it!!

All volunteers will be thoroughly briefed before each event begins.

I'll gladly assist with judging, parading (I have quite a few rep, most festivals from the last few years, and some other odd ones), and hosting. Just say the word :)

I can't see too much that I can help with as many events clash with a regular event I am already committed to that runs between 12 noon and 1:30 approx.

I realize that having a nearly all-day series of events is bound to overlap a lot of things that happen on a weekly basis. Hopefully folks won't mind, and might even consider skipping their normal weekly routine for this once-a-year special event. There are so many events on Landroval, it's impossible to schedule around everything.

I know you weren't criticizing, Keli, no worries. It just bears saying, so that folks know we haven't over-scheduled other events without putting some thought into it. I would like folks to know (especially the new ones) that I try to schedule any events that I host away from existing events whenever possible. I don't always know about other events, but I do make the effort.

We really need volunteers for these events. Please post if you are available. Mention the specific events and roles where you can help out.

I know the events are two weeks away, but we need to cancel any events that don't have enough volunteers before we start advertising them. We don't want to wait to advertise until the last minute.

The jobs are really very easy to do and will be explained to all volunteers before the events begin.

Currently I plan to help with course judging and musicianship for each of the races; though I would like to race in the Beryl Cup if possible. Of course, I will be at the formation riding performance.

The Pirate Princess Aalloria Borealis and the Old Harpy's Crew can be there to play music, or stand by in case others might not show up as a back up plan. While the crew will be there, only Aalloria will race. I judged the last one, so I am eager to place so the Might Barbossa BlackSteed and I can beat the pants off of dem dere udder ones!!

Thank you for volunteering, I'd love to see the Old Harpy's Crew at an event! Which one(s) are you planning to provide music for?

I am available for the Spring Racing Carnival all day on May 4th. I'd be happy to play event host to any of the races on that day, particularly the Bree Cup.
