Turbine's LotR license Agreement Renewed

In case anyone is interested but stays away from the LOTRO forums (generally a wise idea, btw =) Sapience posted in the forums stating the license for Turbine to use the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit material has been extended through 2017.

It's so funny to watch this "saga" as it unfolds. There was never any doubt (at the corporate level) that they would get whatever renewals they want, yet some forum gossip started everyone into a renewal panic. Turbine employees, especially Sapience, mentioned repeatedly across the last several months that it wasn't an issue. However, they didn't seem to answer more than one question a week about it, and not always in the forums (also on Facebook, in Twitter, and in public chat). Despite this, the question was asked almost on a daily basis, and every time they didn't answer the question again, somebody took it as a sign that the renewal was in question, because otherwise why wouldn't they answer? Really, they didn't answer because they got sick of answering... and it wouldn't have stopped the gossip anyway. The trolls really got a lot of people hyperventilating, speculating and gossiping.

Haha Yes Kiralynn. And even with this announcement there is STILL speculation going on.
