A Shire Pie Run will inevitably stop at the nearest dessert table and go no further.
But a Thunder Ride to Rohan would be a lot of fun. We could set off fireworks/trumpets in towns along the way and announce in regional for folks to join.

I've always wanted to try a mad gallop all the way from the Forsaken Inn to Rohan. Would be a hell of a ride, that's for sure...but I'd settle for a mass stampede across the plains of Rohan :)

Good idea. We would just need to be sure all riders are on +62 mounts so they don't get separated as they go.

Perhaps we could make it themed and schedule it well in advance. A winter holiday ride? A New Year's Eve ride? Ideas?

It all depends on the number of hobbits and the size of that table.
I would love to participate on a thunder ride anywhere even through Moria (just expect to lose a lot of people due to misadventure.)

My Return of the King, appendix B, says the Muster of Rohan occurred on March 10. Would that be too far off? Otherwise the earliest LOTR-related Rohirric event would be Aragorn & Co. meeting Eomer whilst orc-hunting, which occurred on...um...February 30. *makes a note to check the Professor's calendar, whichever appendix that's hidden away in*

That...may not be do-able? :)
It would be really neat to do this on war-steeds, but I suppose a 62% mount is more widely accessible.

Could be done in stages. We could start from the far end: start with warsteeds somewhere in Rohan, do a wild hunt on the warbands, after an hour or so call a break in some town to allow folks to clear their bags; then continue riding north; eventually end up in safer areas (Trollshaws, Lone Lands, etc.), switch to standard horses and call for riders to join up in each regional as we pass through. Then we end up at a kinhall somewhere for a party. That way the folks we collect in lower-level/safer areas can follow along to a party rather than to some area of increasing danger.
We should perhaps schedule it sometime this fall (before the holidays, before Helms Deep release, etc.) if there is enough interest. Could also be very informal, just ask around in kinchat/alesandtales some Friday/Saturday and see if there is enough interest.
