re: Ales and Tales Extreme! Stage Crew Sign up
by Anthemisi on 2012/10/06 9:34 am
Greetings,
To maintain Ales and Tales in Extreme conditions, we need stage crew: MCs, stage manager, bandleader, and more, also musicians to play in Old Winyards! We now have a sign up sheet via Google Docs where you can add your name for the jobs you would like to help with, each month.
Ales and Tales Extreme! is an extreme Ales and Tales, which takes place at different-unreachable-dangerous places of Middle Earth, on every 4th Friday of the month, 9.30 pm /servertime.
*note: Usually Nibbles & Nobs begins at 8:30 pm /servertime
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AnzP63fwZ8eFdHdsUFMyb0t3M3YyYUQ5bXVDalpuc3c#gid=0
Also you can reply to this topic with different venue ideas.
Kind Regards,
Anthe...

To kick off the venue list, here are the ones that people suggested in the A&T survey a while ago:
A&T Extreme
21st hall
Lothlorien
Galtrev
Lorien: Imlad Lalaith docks
Forochel
Ruins in Eregion
Bridge of Khazad-Dum
Stangard Tavern
Limlight Glade
Pristine Glade
Vile Maw Entrance in the Waterworks
Stairs entering 2nd hall in Nud Melek
Harndirion
Lake in Enedwaith
Zirak-Zigil
Heart of Fire in Moria
The top of the Endless Stair in the Foundations of Stone
Twlhw Mawr
on a remote mountain in the Misties
I'm only 34 so my ability to go to high level areas is limited. I would like to see the show go to other servers.
Tree of Suffering in Mirkwood
Galadhriel's Garden in Caras Galadhon
The Grand Stairs
Hall of Durin
Mirkwood would make a great Halloween setting.
Hobbit village in the Ettenmoors
Vinyards of Lorien,
Lorien - The Quiet Garden
Mirrormere
Enedwaith - Maur Tulhau a.k.a. the Stoor Village,
Nar's Peak,
Angmar - Aughaire,
Tarmunn Sursa near Carn Dum
Super extreme - 24 people kill Draigoch and throw a party over his body.
The Peaceful Glade,
the Garden of Memory,
the Avardin Main Stage
the garden in Moria,
Gwingris,
the Eavespires,
Sâri-surma,
the Snowman Village at Tâl Methedras,
Stangard Mead Hall
Haunted Tavern
Tower of Orthanc front steps
I can't think of its name right now, but the elf haven in the western Mournshaws area of Enedwaith might work. It's part of the volume 3 epic quest. I'm not sure if it's only accessible with the book quest, if it's a pre-requisite, or accessible at any time.
The Chamber of Mazarbul
Gwingris
The eastern gates of Moria (exterior)
The glowing stone sculpture just West of the Dolven View
The secret tavern in the 21st hall would be brilliant, but since the only way to get there is by Moria keg it'd take a lot of captains and a lot of keg ports to get just one band up there, so it might not be practicable.
A&T must take the hobbits to Isengard!
Ettenmoors - Glan Vraig, cappies can summon there,
Chamber of Leadership,
Tharakh Bazan in Durin's Way),
Eregion - Burnt Tor,

I don't think I had posted it anywhere else before - I just have a document where I made the list from suggestions people put in the survey, but I don't think I had ever posted it here!

>Previously posted survey results in the News forum<
It's just as well to have the list in this thread, though.
I was also thinking about a few of the rep-gated locations. They're not so extreme, I suppose, but they are places that not everyone has access to, so a regular A&T wouldn't work well. The upstairs room of the Mathom House has always seemed like a good place to hold an event, and Imlad Gelair in Rivendell is beautiful as well. The Blue Stone Garrison in Thorin's Hall is less appealing to me, but more dwarven-minded folk might like it. The secret back room of the Inn Leauge is another option, although I'm afraid any party there would quickly degenerate.
There are quite a few higher-level areas that are probably more deserving to host an A&T Extreme, but those are a few more ideas.
Also, I thought the survey results fixed ATE as the official acronym - although since ATX was the one I voted for, I'm perfectly content seeing it be used. ;)

There was a regular A&T in the Mathom House, actually! Before my time - Harperella would remember...

I think most of the places I would suggest are covered by the list, but here's what I like.
-Monty Python Rabbit's den in Enedwaith
-The ridge-racer spot in Eregion
-That "hidden glade" place by the swampy area in Dunland
-Stangard hall

Oh, fun! I'm glad somebody thinks to take high-quality pictures at things, for us late-comers to enjoy later.

I'm afraid the timing is such that I cannot commit to ATX - start time is just two hours after the FFC start time. After the FFC meeting ends I have some record-keeping to do, and there is then the time taken to get to many of the more out of the way places that ATX meets in. So I certainly can't see being available for OW rehearsal, and probably not in time to MC the open stage segment.

I will look to play with OWX in places that I can get to, but otherwise don't plan to organize it since I cannot reach some of those places yet (e.g. Lothlorien).
BTW, the Blue Stone Garrison location has the advantage of having a large area for dancing.
Edit: Perhaps the Chamber of Command in Moria, unless it is locked to those not on the epic quest? Has tables full of food, plus a big dance area.

Very nice old memories :)
Actually, the time, decided at survey...There can be a change or not, but it's just once a month event, it sounds doable to cut down FFC a few minutes, or start earlier?
