re: Shinarra

I was thinking about Shin/Pam and regretting being away the last few months that missed out to see her still. But I have good memories of her offering her friendship to me when we were in evendim and played and of course her at ales n tales and I tried to copy her roleplaying...

I'm very sorry to Est and just wanted to say I was thinking of you both. I don't believe her light will ever go out ever.

re: Shinarra

I had feared the worst from the first news of this tragedy, and am very sorry to see it come to pass.

Shinnara was a dear friend and will be missed.

She was a hella CEC and wore that badge with honor. There was no fazing her with a crude comment and she could roll one-liners with the best. I will miss seeing her dancing and our conversations. We had good times sharing music, humor, and a love for free speech besides other things. It was a pleasure and honor to host her and Estellost's reception at the BBB frathouse and it was a night to remember. I looked forward to her joining the Bearded Lore-Master Team, as she joked she could let herself go now that she was a 'taken' elf. She liked to tease Estellost that he had to grow a Beard, too, to help house her critters.

Personally, it has not been an easy year for my PB, and she always lent a kind and perceptive ear. She was warm, vivacious, self-effacing, and funny as hell. I always appreciated that she told it straight-up. She was an admirable person, and I enjoyed teaching her the Pennsylvaniaisms of her new home.

Fair winds, dear Shinarra. We have all been robbed. My condolences, especially to you, Estellost.

re: Shinarra

I can't believe I just heard of all this.
I am at loss for words- so sad- for myself and all of us-
she was always so sweet, accepting, warm, giving (she gave my character her first cosmetic- just because..)
I loved watching her and Est dance most of all.
My prayers go out to her and her family and friends.
May Shinarra rest in peace.

re: Shinarra

I did not know Shinarra very well, but the words others have had to say about her make me realize it was my loss not to have known her. My prayers go out to all who were her friends and family.

re: Shinarra

I'm absolutely broken to log on today, and read this news.

To Estellost and all who were friends and kin with Pam, I'm so deeply sorry you have lost such a warm and beautiful person. May the Lord bless and comfort you. I know the heavens are rejoicing this week, for they have gained a really special lady, but this mortal plane is dimmed without Shinarra.

I can see her now, laughing and dancing there.

Be at peace, Shinarra. May we meet again, and get to know one another better, when my own time is come. And "G'night, lovely lady" to replace my silence the other night when you left to rest. I wish I had said it then, for it was there in my heart.

With love,
Lien.

re: Shinarra

I am shocked and devastated by this news. I didn't know her very well and I wish I would have had the opportunity to get to know her better.

It doesn't feel the same without her, I will miss her. My deepest condolences to Estellost and to her family.

Rest In Peace, Shinarra.

re: Shinarra

sad crying

The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can.
Let them a journey new begin,
But she at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the light within,
Her final rest and peace to meet.

We will all mourn the passing of Shinnara and it is fit that we do so, but let not that grief overshadow the memory of the light that she brought into our lives. We may not be able to enjoy her fellowship in the days to come, but as long as we carry her memory with us and hold her in the light of our own tales yet to be told, she will forever be a part of the great epic that we continue to create and re-tell with each new dawn. So let her be remembered with greatest fondness in story and song as each of us travels on our weary way... far apart, but never alone.

re: Shinarra

Still 'round the corner there may wait
A new road or secret gate;
And though I oft have passed them by,
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun.

I was listening to this yesterday when I mourned Shinarra.

re: Shinarra

I adapted lyrics for a recent tune I transcribed; hopefully we can play this next week.

#As I went down to the town of Bree,
#At the hour of twelve at night,
#Who should I see but Lady Shinarra,
#Washing her feet by candle-light.
#First she washed them, then she dried them
#Over a fire of amber coal,
#In all my life I ne'er did see
#A maid so sweet about the soul.

#Lament for the Lady Shinarra
#The fairest dancer of them all
#Lament for the Lady Shinarra
#The sweetest Lady of them all.

#As I went back through the town of Bree
#At the hour of half-past eight
#Who should I see but Lady Shinarra
#Brushing her hair outside the gate.
#First she brushed it, then she combed it,
#On her hand was a silver comb.
#In all my life I ne'er did see
#A maid so fair since I did roam.

#Lament for the Lady Shinarra
#The fairest dancer of them all
#Lament for the Lady Shinarra
#The sweetest Lady of them all.

#As I came back through the town of Bree
#As the sun began to set
#Who should I see but Lady Shinarra
#Catching a moth in a golden net.
#When she saw me then she fled me
#Lifting her petticoat over her knee
#In all my life I ne'er did see
#A maid so shy as the Elven Lady.

#Lament for the Lady Shinarra
#The fairest dancer of them all
#Lament for the Lady Shinarra
#The sweetest Lady of them all.

#I've wandered north and I've wandered south
#By Ironmonger's Gate and Jasmine's Garden
#Up and around by the Prancing Pony
#And back around The Cat Lady's house.
#Despair has laid her hand on me
#Cold as a fire of ashy coals
#But where o where is Lady Shinarra,
#Neat and sweet about the soul?

#Lament for the Lady Shinarra
#The fairest dancer of them all
#Lament for the Lady Shinarra
#The sweetest Lady of them all.

That must be Spanish Lady, lovely tune.

Like a lot of people have said here, I never knew Shinarra well, but we did have a few exchanges through the in-game mail. She was always very friendly and giving, and I am truly sad to hear this news, despite not knowing her irl.

re: Shinarra

I didn't know Shinarra very well, but I am very saddened to hear about her passing. She seemed like she was a very nice person. She would salute/cheer/emote my characters in-game whenever we happened to be in the same place, such as the bank in Michel Delving, which I very much appreciated.

My condolences go to everyone saddened by her passing, especially to Estellost and her real-life family.

re: Shinarra

I wanted to let everyone know that Pennirose will be going in Shinarra's characters to set things in order. On Sunday, she will most likely delete the characters with Shin in the name as a symbolic gesture.

I thought it better everyone knew this in advance of it happening in game.

Yours in sorrow,
Gaiagil
