Only once a week?  However will you tell the fantastic story of that band among bands, BBB, with only one, single, solitary strip a week? My fans, er, I mean, YOUR fans demand more! 
(In all seriousness, major love, and I would think that once a week should probably be a perfectly respectable update rate - but I agree with Hammino in that you shouldn't *force* yourself to stick to a schedule.)

think about it this way, if you do a weekly update, you might begin to feel obligated and what you wanted to do for fun begins to feel like a job.
Or at least that happened to me and blogging
