I cannot get to Lothlorien. I am not even in Moria yet. Why set a place where young ones can't go? I know tis pretty there, but we're a family, and all the family should be able to go ta Ales & Tales, not just the higher level ones. How about we go ta Rivendell instead, if ye want an elfy atmosphere?
Just my two coppers worth.
Love y'all,
Bima

Alas, Bima -- we agonized over this very issue when we added visits to higher-level areas for ATX four or so years ago. We decided it was worth it to see the newer areas, and have gone further afield as regions have been added, even if it meant that some folks might not be able to join us every week. We only do this 1-2 times per month, try to get folks there via summons (or stables, depending on how accessible the location is), and have even done some overland escorts (ala Weatherstock) at times. I missed the first several ATXs due to being under-level too, but it inspired me to get leveled-up just enough to get there in the future. Most of our excursions aren't quite as far afield; we're visiting Angmar, the Old Forest, Rivendell, and the North Downs in the next few months.

re: from irfae, about places where some cant go.
by Irfae on 2017/09/25 5:06 pm
i am currently seeing what I can do to build a work around. with lillianrielto try to find a summoning horn or something to get people there who cant get there on their own. I don't want to sound negative, I understand seeing new places, but I think it is unfair, some of the bands even have people in them who may not be able to get there. I know I'm not a deciding factor and I know we cant please everyone all the time.. but I wont go if people who love and support us cant get there. to me it feels wrong. I'm sorry, but sometimes you gotta lose for the family to win. ill take a loss of an event to support our lower level friends and members. ill play in bree or Rivendell for those who cant make it.

re: for those whom shall not pass.

I have scouted lands from mordor to lorien on my alt lillianriel. there is no perceivable way to ferry anyone to lorien unless they have completed the seeker of deep places achievement that happens before moria and introduces legendary items. I thought to purchase maps to lorien for those who cant get there on their own but alas.. there is no hope for anyone whom has not finished seeker of deep places. with this in mind, if any should speak that they cannot go to lorien, then I will gather any whom desire to and we shall have a lowbie concert of our own if they speak desire to. I would not do this in any spite, but instead to show those we left behind that they are not forgotten and that they are loved just as much.
with light and hope, Irfae.

Actually I got to Lorien before I got into Moria... Had to travel there from the other side though but now I have a milestone there (in Lorien). We have done ales and tales in some far off place like Dol Amroth before (spelling?) I think we can get people there if we do it early enough. Still might have trouble summoning in Lorien in the Golden Wood but it shouldnt be a problem to do just east of there and then ride in.
It's called Ales and Tales Extreme.
Might be nice to have some music in Bree for those that dont want to go through the trouble though.

Ales & Tales Extreme will be in the Vineyards of Lorien. Low levels can take the stable at South Bree to Stangard, then to Thinglad and then it is a quick ride to the vineyards.
Let us know if anyone needs an escort!

I myself have yet to get through Moria - I'm just weird and slow like that - and I don't like to spoil content by jumping ahead via ports and such, so I can't/won't make it. That said, I have no problem with occasional Ales & Tales being in far-flung places. It's been going on for years, so it gets tricky to find new and exciting (and usable) locations. I trust the people picking the locations to know that it can happen only so often.
