I think I may be available for the Beryl Cup on April 20th as well. 90% chance at this point.

I can help with races held after 8pm est, and would love to be in the horse show. I have a huge collection of horses including the Steed of the Jester,Fireworks steed and Captain's Mount. No Skeleton horses, they scare me.

I'm glad to hear it!
Do you mostly want to be the announcer for the Bree Cup, or do you also want to recite the rules to the riders, do the pace lap, etc? (If you want to go over the rules with them, I highly recommend using LotroPad or something similar, as there is a LOT of text to copy/paste.) I can lend a hand if you don't want to do the behind-the-scenes grunt work.
If you're available for the two qualifiers earlier in the day, do you prefer to host or judge?

In general, I prefer to host--but that is mainly force of habit. I'd be happy to do either.
I think the way we did it last year was best--I'll handle the audience and you handle the riders. Otherwise, everyone is waiting around while the host goes over rules and the course to the riders. Its hard to handle both the mechanics of the race and entertain the crowd at the same time. Can we split our responsibilities that way?

That sounds like an excellent idea. Let's plan to do that for all three races on Saturday, and the races on Friday if you happen to be available for those. Usually I have musicians play music during those breaks, but it would be even better not to have the breaks. It will be nice to have someone explain to the audience what they're about to see, while I'm telling the riders what rules they have to obey.
Hopefully we'll still have musicians to play before the event, because that's so critical to alerting people that they've arrived at the right place, as well as during the pace lap.

The short link to this page is: http://tinyurl.com/src2013signups
Non-LMB bands are welcome to play in concert slots where LMB-affiliated bands aren't interested in playing. If we get close to the event date without sign-ups, I'll ask for musicians in the LOTRO forums.
Duties:
* Host - Take sign-ups, enforce the rules, answer questions, run the event.
* Race course judge - Stand at your assigned checkpoint, watch and take screenshots of the riders as they pass you, especially the first half-dozen.
* Backup judge - Cover for a race course judge who doesn't show or has a bad lag spike.
* Bookie - Encourage spectators to /tell you the name of the one rider they think will win the race, draw a name randomly from the list of people who guess correctly, tell the host who to give the prize to.
* Event musicians - Play music during the slow times of an event, such as when the host explains the rules to the contestants, when the votes are tallied, and so forth.
* Horse parade riders - Put together an outfit to match each rare horse you can ride during the parade, ride in a slow circle around town square on queue.
* Concert musicians - The usual!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
April 20 (Sat) at 1:00pm -
Beryl Cup at Duillond (qualifier #2)
* Event host - Kiralynn
* 3 course judges
* 2 backup judges - Harperella (90% to be there)
* Bookie
* The Old Harpy Crew is available tomorrow to play a 30 minute set if you'd like.

I hope to be available from 2pm and on for the May 4th festivities. I won't be racing so am happy to play music, act as a judge or whatever else you may need. Of course, I will be able to participate in the Riding Team Demo (Woooo!). If I am able to get on before 2pm, I can help with those events as well, just can't commit this far ahead. Also, the same for Friday evening. I am usually on at that time so will hesitantly say that I am available to judge for those races.

OK, Kira, I figured if I can't play with the band on Crickhollow, I'd just bring them with me!
How about Second Breakfast (Breakfast Club) take a slot? Best would probably be
May 4 (Sat) at 1:30pm -
Pre-LBL Cup Concert in Michel Delving

Also, put me down as Judge (or backup) for
May 4 (Sat) at Noon -
Mithril Cup in Gondamon (qualifier #5)
And I can still do the music at 3:30; I'm sure I can grab 2 or 3 others to help.
But scrub me out for the 5:30 slot

I would really love to add a build-up element to the Bree Cup. I would love to have a couple of Pony Riders... that is, people riding horses or ponies that act as escorts to the race horses during warm-ups. If you've ever been to horse races in real life, you'll probably remember seeing companion horses trotting alongside the registered horses. Regardless of size and breed, they're nicknamed "ponies".
I think it would be nice to pony out each of the race riders in turn, introducing them to the crowd. This would add more excitement and also make the bookie's job a bit easier, since it advertises the names of the riders.
This is probably the easiest volunteer job of the event.
You can be a race course judge and also a pony rider, however musicians and the bookie will probably be too busy to do this.
Would anyone be willing to volunteer for this role?

I'm just going to check - I assume "racers" for the final SRC are ineligible to pony other racers?
