NEXT RACE - The Haunted Derby, Saturday, Oct 13 at 1pm ST

The Haunted Derby Date: Saturday, October 13 at 1:00pm ST Place: The party tent at the Buckland Faire. * Costume Contest – The theme of the contest is Halloween costumes. This is not a mounted contest; participants will be walking across the stage. Bring roleplay items and perform emotes to highlight your costume. The audience votes for the winners! * Horse Race – A challenging, perilous race through the Old Forest and Barrow-downs. Fast (+68%) horses and ponies will be allowed.

Prizes
* First Place - 750 Turbine Points and an account-wide Perlino steed.
* Second Place - 4 gold + Perlino
* Third Place - 2 gold + Perlino

Race Route:
* The start line is an imaginary line drawn between the lamp post and a tree at 33.1S/62.6W.
* The first checkpoint is passing north down the path that leads between a stone wall and a storage shed beside Tom Bombadil's House in the Old Forest at 32.5S/57.3W.
* The second checkpoint a counter-clockwise pass (left turn) around the Dead Spire in the Barrow Downs at 32.1S/55.2W.
* The third checkpoint is passing south down the path at Tom Bombadil's House.
* The finish line is the same as the start line.

What time would you anticipate for the music?

I'd love for the music to start at 12:30pm server, so that people will know for certain that they're at the right location (while I'm out teleporting around and advertising the event).

It is very helpful to have music during rider sign-ups and while I'm telling them the rules, so the crowd doesn't get bored.

It is also very useful to have music while we're reviewing horse race screenshots, while we're organizing for the costume contest, and while we're counting votes for the contest. Basically, any time I'm standing there and appear to be doing nothing.



The bookie would just accept /tells before the race. Each person can bet on ONE rider they think will win. Everyone who guesses correctly has their name put in a hat for a prize. The bookie randomly picks someone after the race winner is announced.

If all goes well I will be able to attend, so I can help out with judging. However, I'm likely to still be running on wireless for internet, so I might have a bit of lag. If you get enough people to fill all the judge spots I can be the bookie instead - a less graphically-intensive job.
