Have you read & do you agree with LMB charter?:
Yes

Do you understand that Kin chat channel is for LOTRO and Tolkien related chat only?:
Yes

Use this area to share why you want to join LMB.:
I saw an admin recruiting in chat in Mordor server and I recognized the name from long long ago. I've done roleplaying in other videogames, but mostly in TTRPGs with friends or strangers. Although I haven't read the books in many years, coming back to the game has reignited an old passion for Tolkien's fantastical worlds. I always have a lot of fun both learning and teaching new things and lore, and would love to be a part of the Band be it for some RP, lore discussion, playing and attending concerts and more! This game's community is incredibly welcoming and the love the Band shows for Tolkien's world and stories is immediately noticeable. I would very much like to be a part and contribute to the Band :)

Player info:

Age Range:
Old Fogey

Tell us about any MMO or RP experience you may have (RP is not required for membership, we are just curious): :
I have done some LARPing (medieval and Vampire The Masquerade) but most of my roleplaying experience comes from tabeltop RPGs actually!
I ran D&D for quite a few years when I was younger, and I've played in many games over the years in different genres liek high-fantasy, low gritty fantasy, different kinds of sci-fi and I've been a solo roleplay gamer for a while too. I'm playing Ironsworn with a friend cooperatively, and I'm starting a The One Ring 2e solo game currently.
In videogames, I roleplayed mostly in Vanilla WoW in 2005 and in Classic more recently.

Please tell us what time zone you are in. (i.e. EST): :
GMT 0? Lisbon/London time...

Character information:

Tell us about your character: :
Seragreth is one of the High Elves.
She was quite young, at 62 years of age, when the Last Alliance of Elves and Men marched upon the Black Gate. An Elf so young, but already so accomplished in her feats and knowledge of war, tactics and logistics. A born leader and tactitian, Seragreth would come to be known for her extreme dedication to her craft but also to the ones under her command.
Known at times to be a little too strict, or perhaps even hot-headed (for an Elf anyways), she would face contempt from her older peers but it all came down to her eagerness to find conflict and achieve victory; most elves enjoy their peace, quiet, and time to sit and study the world, but Seragreth takes no calm from sitting idly when pain and suffering stir around her. And so, while her brothers and sisters sat and studied the scriptures, she trained her body and mind for she knew the day would come that her skills would save the lives of her family and friends, even if they didn't realise it now.

When the Elves decided to join the Men against the Dark Lord and his vile armies, Seragreth was the first to step up and was a key strategist and tactician on the backlines as well as a feared leader on the battlefield, the Light radiating from her with each swing of her legendary weapon: the enchanted halberd named Aeglos, or Snow Thorn in the common tongue.
Although she managed to keep herself and others safe, she could have never prepared herself for the immense loss of life she witnessed during the war. It took its toll on her, mostly because of her juvenile and bravado. Trying to rescue a fellow Elf, Seragreth rushed in to meet one of the Nine alone, and was felled by a Morgul blade for her arrogance.

By divine grace, Lord Elrond saved her and brought her to Rivendell to rest. He let her sleep for 3000 years, until she woke up. She travelled back to her birthplace of Ered Luin where she was offered travel to the golden shores of the West... which she refused. She cannot go. She lost so much, almost everyone she knew, and now Sauron is back.

Seragreth is calmer now, scarred by the horrors of war. But deep down, she is still the same person. Hot-headed (for an elf..) and sometimes rash, but only because she does not believe that Time and Fate are on the side of Light... and the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing

Please tell us of any previous/current kinships you have character(s) in LOTRO. :
None

LMB experience:

Were you referred by a current member? Who?: :
lauralda

Have you ever been to LMB hosted event? If yes, what were your impressions? If no, are you planning on it in the next week? (Highly recommended!):
Unfortunately, not yet, but I will be making a character on the Landroval server so I can join until there is a stronger presence in Mordor

Gameplay preferences:

What activities do you enjoy most in LOTRO? :
Reading the quests, crafting, chilling in Bree and talking to people.

Kinship expectations:

What are your expectations from LMB as a member? :
To be a part of a nice friendly community, that I can talk about the world with and learn about all the nooks and crannies of Middle Earth. Having never experienced the game past level 20, I'm incredibly excited to go on journeys with people as much as I am about RP walking into a concert and have a nice dance while drunk from the Pony's finest beer!!

What do you think your strongest contribution to LMB would be? :
My all around good spirits I think. I'm always willing to learn new things and participate in whatever event is going on, and trying to help with whatever is needed! Even outside of LotRO, I would definitly be willing to do other activities; for example like I mentioned earlier, play The One Ring with people or share my solo adventures, etc.

Tolkien:

Have you read the books or seen the movies? What are your favourite scenes or images? :
I read the books when I was younger but I didn't know english all that well so it was a very tough read. However, I am a big fan of the movies and I ab so lu te ly need to re-read the books as well as The Hobbit and whatever else.
Tom Bombadil is one of the characters that is one of the biggest misteries to me. The whole "is he a God or something" feel around Bombadil is fantastic and I am sorry it never made it to the movies. The way Gollum's inner conflict was portrayed in the movies was absolutely masterful as well as the scene that will always make me cry, when Frodo and Bilbo leave to the West. But damn there are so many cool moments, especially in the extended editions!! Like when the hobbits see the procession of the elves through the woods and they have this white haze around them, almost like they are ghosts...

Misc:

Is there anything else not covered in this application that you'd like to share with us? :
Hmm... I'm Portuguese, 33 yo, I play on Mordor, I collect dice and I run a local Blood Bowl association with a few friends!
