The single-player adventure/puzzle game Obduction is free on GOG.com for the next 48-ish hours. It's made by Cyan, the developers of Myst, and is kind of a modern spiritual successor to the series.

You need a GOG account, but there's no requirement to install a launcher, if you don't want.
Also, if anyone is curious: Myst Online is a free MMO that is still running. It was sort of a failed experiment, but Cyan made it free a while ago, even open sourcing it so people could run their own servers. It's 100% peaceful and revolves strictly around solving puzzles. It's certainly shows is age, but Cyan's world-building has always been very artistic and detailed. There's a small but dedicated community on there. It's where I disappear off to on Saturday nights after BBB. I've actually gotten quite a number of players from there to try LOTRO.

I have GOG and I have Obduction but I never got very far. I need to give it another try....
