Have you ever wondered if you'd like Elder Scrolls Online, but didn't want to lay out the cash for the base game to find out? Dec. 6-11 they are having a Free Play week. Play without paying a dime.
ESO is a "buy to play" game in that you must purchase the base game... unlike Lotro which is F2P, no need to spend anything to get started. ESO does have good sales... original base game was $50 and up. They've recently had specials of $20 for the base plus the 2 expansions: Vvardenfell and Summerset (which cost the rest of us a total of $150).
We have a nice little core of LMB players over there. Let us know if you give it a try so we can add you to our friends list!
:)

The base game is only $9.99, right now. Also, you can get the Entire ESO collection for PC for $39.99 (includes: ESO base game, ESO: Morrowind® Chapter, ESO: Summerset™ Chapter, and four DLC game packs). This is a GREAT deal!

Wow Elder Scrolls Online looks neat from the pictures. It's taking hours to download and install but I can hope it will be ready to play before the free trial period ends tomorrow. :)

Well... that was a fail.
Crystal and I both downloaded and installed the game, and created new accounts on ESO. Confirmed the email. Can sign on to the web site.
But neither of us can sign on to the game. It's not recognizing either of our logins, and the only recourse seems to be to send an email to Bethesda support.
Since our experience is identical, I'm assuming that this is a problem with the game and not an erroneously entered password or somesuch. Perhaps there is some tribal knowledge that we are not aware of.
Obviously, this is not an optimum new user experience. Golly.

Bummer... I am so sorry to hear that!!! I believe I did see posts on the forums about this issue... but never paid any attention to them. And today is too late.
It is an awesome game. Not without issues, obviously, but no games are issue free. I'm sorry you didn't get to taste it for yourself during this free trial.

re: New Play Free Weekend Coming UP
by Tearna Quickfoot on 2019/03/25 10:42 pm
ESO is doing another play free weekend:
QUOTE from : https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/55951 (scroll down close to bottom)
Starting this Thursday, March 28, and running until Wednesday, April 3, you can play The Elder Scrolls Online free on all platforms.
Because the Free Play Event includes access to the base game, this means that as a free play player, you can check out the Elsweyr Prologue Quest and begin the adventure that eventually takes you to the home of the Khajiit in The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr (now available for pre-purchase)!
In addition to access to the ESO base game, the Free Play Event also allows you to visit the Morrowind zone, giving you the opportunity to explore Tamriel and the island home of the Dark Elves.
Once the event starts, visit our Free Play (on website this is a link) page to select your platform and enter Tamriel. Note that a PlayStation®Plus membership is required to participate on PlayStation®4, and an Xbox Live Gold membership is required for Xbox One.
