Race Host - Must follow standard Windy Acres racing rules, take sign-ups, organize racers, start the race, determine who won, take screenshots of the winners, and report the winners to Kiralynn.

Course Judge - Stand at a checkpoint along the race course. Take screenshots of the first riders who pass you. Verify later that the rider did pass the checkpoint properly.

Bookie - Accept /tells from people in the audience. Each person gives the name of the one rider they believe will win the championship race. All of the names of people who correctly guess the winning rider are "thrown in a hat". Names are selected randomly and prizes are awarded.

Fireworks Launcher - Shoot fireworks when instructed to do so. Low-altitude fireworks provided. Bring your own high-altitude fireworks, and whatever low-altitude fireworks that you can.

Barrel Hobbits - Dress in bright "safety" orange with a pointy hat. Stand on a field. As people on war steeds race around you, report to the host if one of the steeds touches or passes through you, and make a silly emote when this happens.

Rodeo Clown - Put on a comedy show. This may involve silly songs, jokes, a comedy routine, fire-breathing, and so forth. An outrageous outfit is highly recommended.

Pony Rider - Help organize the participants in the championship race. Lead them out from the waiting area, past the audience, and back again.

Blog/Social Media Advertising - Contact the authors of various blogs and other LOTRO social media sites, giving them SRC information and asking them to mention it on their site/blog/etc.

Twitter/Facebook Reporter - Take occasional screenshots of the events to post on social media. Post the schedule and other interesting information (such as contest winners) as the day progresses.

Vendors - Pass out free ale, pipe-weed, and snacks at the various events.

Unless some emergency comes up, I can be a judge for the Thorins, Rivendell and Bounders Cups. I'll think about the other stuff.

I've asked my family whether there's any plans to work around in April. At the moment I don't foresee any conflicts (no birthdays or anniversaries then, for example). Unless something comes up:

- I'd like to host the second race, on the 11th
- I'd like to help judge on the other three qualifiers.
- If you don't have enough judges or pony riders for the Eriador Cup, I don't mind helping with that as well (although I'd prefer to race in it!). Hmm, I don't see that you're asking for judges for the Cup, though...are they not needed or is that an oversight?

I'll be volunteering, Kiralynn, but not until I know my son's schedule for the spring musical at school (only in the audition stage at the moment) and some other activities of his.

I'll like to volunteer with whatever is needed as a filler of 'blanks' - no definite preference but also no prior experience. Will try to block off April 25th irl. However my RL schedule is such that I may only confirm during the 1st week of April hence only tentative at present.

I should be able to be a course judge for the Thorin's, Rivendell, and Bounders prelim races.

For the 25th, I'm not certain about earlier in the day yet, but I can be a judge for the championship race, be a 'pony rider' for the intros, and assist with the Wild Ride in some capacity.

For the Rivendell race I think TSO can play some elegant classical.

For the 25th TSO will play a selection of Big Band and Jazz for the 1st hour (The Break).
For the Fashion Contest we will present the Musical Creatures for some modern sassy music :)

Let me know if this is in keeping with what you have in mind, I am always willing to change direction to fit with your overall scheme.

I'll pass the word to other bands that your looking for more entertainment :)

I have been hesitant to sign up, since I never know exactly what my schedule will be so far in advance! That being said, I plan to attend as many of these events as possible. For the qualifiers, I can help judge each race, as needed. I can also try my hand at hosting the Bounder's Cup Qualifier on April 18th.

On Carnival day, I can help judge, be a pony rider, cover Twitter coverage on my stream and possibly Facebook coverage on the Ales &Tales channel.

If my schedule changes before the race, I will be sure to update!

Is there anyone with a Cook who could purchase the single-use banquet table recipes from Hobnanigans, so that we can set up banquet tables during the Spring Racing Carnival picnic?

I can probably supply the Hobnanigan's tokens and other materials, as long as I know what they are ahead of time.

Keli, Zed's ready to work on posters. Is there any word on band availability?


We still have great need of...
* Hobbits to act as barrels for barrel racing during the rodeo at Noon.
* Fireworks launchers for the riding team show at 3:00pm. (Fireworks provided.)
* Bookie for the Eriador Cup Championship Cup at 4:00pm.
* Pony riders (mounted escorts) for the Eriador Cup at 4:00pm.
* Course judges for the Eriador Cup at 4:30pm.
* A band for the 6-7pm SRC concert slot. Andune? Old Winyards? BBB?
* A host for the Wild Ride, a cross-country jaunt that's not a race.

At the moment that date is free - I wasn't sure whether it would be helpful to post here with a 'maybe', because it's still a way off. But I'd (Elimraen) like to do some fireworks launching on the 25th if I'm around :)
