re: Talent Shows - Yea or nay?

Greetings, Banders!
As most of you know, I put quite a bit of time and resources into hosting events for the Landroval server. Although they are open to the public, I primarily organize these for the benefit of the LMB. Some of the events I've hosted are becoming more popular, others less so. I work a full-time job and have a family, so I cannot host all types of events all of the time.
The purpose of this poll is to get your feedback. Let me know, honestly, what level of interest you have in this event. Thank you!
Talent Shows
Contestants take turns on the stage, performing a 2-3 minute act to entertain the crowd. The audience votes for the winners. Acts can be anything - musical performance, stand-up comedy, short skit, magic show, fireworks, etc.
Pros -
* The audience gets to decide the winners, giving them a way to participate in the event.
* Thanks to the ABC system and absence of mobs, people of all levels can participate.
* Allows more creativity and expression than other events.
* Has very few rules for participants to learn.
* Requires no volunteers.
Cons -
* Subject to trolling.
* Bad acts are really boring.
* Thus far, no support from Turbine.
* Can be similar to a concert if most contestants play music and there are already many good bands out there with regular performances.

I say nay because anyone can get an emote or download an abc. Unless the songs are completely handwritten and transcribed or poems written uniquely by the player themselves, there isn't much to judge and unless the transcriber of the song did a terrible job, most songs are the same quality. No one is better than someone else at playing the lute.

Here are the performances that have won talent shows so far -
* Someone playing music BY HAND, not using an ABC file.
* Someone doing a circus performance - big top music played on bagpipe while a partner breathed fire, juggled, did handstands, etc.
* Someone recited a poem they wrote themselves.
* Someone did a stand-up comedy act belittling orcs and goblins.
* Someone did a short comedy skit of a fight between a pirate and a sea captain - very funny dialog.
As you can see, there can be quite a bit to judge other than one's favorite ABC song.

I say YAE!!! :) Trignee does have a point when it comes to downloaded ABC's but there are many more non-music related options, that i think this could be a huge success.

Edit, 2 seconds later: Nevermind. It worked. :)
