The Wraith Race
Date: Wednesday, October 24 at 9:30pm ST
Place: Windy Acres Ranch, 9 Chestnut Street, Raglan, Bree-land.

* Costume Contest – The theme of the contest is Ring Wraiths. Participants will be judged on how intimidating, scary or horrific their outfit is and how well it is presented. This is not a mounted contest; participants will be walking across the stage. Bring roleplay items and perform emotes to highlight your costume. The audience votes for the winners!

* Horse Race – The top 9 winners of the costume contest are allowed to race standard (+62%) horses and ponies.

* Holiday Party – Post-race party at the ranch. Music, ale and pipe-weed in abundance!


Prizes

Costume Contest
* First Place - 1,600 Turbine Points and an account-wide Perlino steed
* Second Place - 4 gold and a Perlino steed
* Third Place - 2 gold and a Perlino steed
* First through Ninth - Eligible to participate in the horse race.

Horse Race
* First Place - 1,600 Turbine Points and an account-wide Perlino steed
* Second Place - 750 Turbine Points and a Perlino steed
* Third Place - 10 gold and a Perlino steed

Holiday Party
* Random door prizes!

Here's an update on the Wraith Race --


What do we need?

* Judge volunteers - I will need 3 judges. 4 would be nice, as I would love to have back-up at the finish line. The lag-beast rarely takes two victims at once.

* Bookie - If someone is willing to act as bookie and take people's bets, I'll give away more prizes. As bookie, people /tell you the name of the ONE rider they think will win. After the race, all the names of people who guessed correctly go into a hat. You pick one randomly.

* Musicians - I have Halloween music that takes up to 7 musicians. You can download it at http://www.roll3d6.com/abc/KiralynnsMusic.zip - look in the Halloween sub-folder. Also, feel free to bring your own spooky songs!

* Reporters - I would love to see some high-resolution screenshots of the events. It would be especially nice to have a screenshot of each costume.

* Voters - The costume contest winners are determined by audience vote. I need lots of people in the audience!

* People who want Perlino steeds. We'll have some of these as door prizes. Most Banders already have one, but if you don't, there's a good chance you can win one at this event. Between door and event prizes, I'll be giving away at least a dozen. I also have some cloaks, small amounts of Turbine Points, and other cool stuff!


What about the race course?

* It has been mapped out. I will be editing the screenshots tomorrow.

* I won't post it until race day.

* It may involve laps.

* It is a steeplechase course. Expect jumps, cliffs, water-crossings and other obstacles.

* The track will run entirely clockwise.

For potential musicians, there's a version of "Frankenstein" (Edgar Winter Group) in Lindale which can be cut/pasted into abc (an earlier version is in the BBB download).

Also, 7-Macabre from the LMB zip has a spooky feel to it.

Plan on being there tonight! Didn't realize the contest was inside - had made a warsteed appearance to match LOL

Will be willing to help judge the race if I don't win in the costume part!
