Windy Acres Ranch Riding Team – Formation riding practice at the Horsefields north of Bree, every Wednesday at 9:30pm ST.
Riding Team Extra Practice – Optional formation riding practice at the Horsefields north of Bree, every Saturday at Noon server time.


Upcoming Races and Shows

The Turkey Chase
Date: Wednesday, November 14 at 9:30pm ST
Place: Windy Acres Ranch (9 Chestnut Street, Raglan, Bree-land homesteads).
* Horse Show – Participants will be judged on the originality and color coordination of their outfit, how well it matches their mount, and how dramatically it is presented. The audience will vote for the winners.
* Horse Race – A mid-length course with numerous jumps through the woods south of Bree.
* Holiday Party – Post-race party at the Ranch.

Misty Mountain Classic
Date: Wednesday, December 12 at 9:30pm ST.
Place: Gloin’s Camp in the Misty Mountains.
* Horse Show – The theme is cold-weather clothing. Participants must show off their best winter outfits.
* Horse Race – A difficult course with obstacles and mobs. The prize will be a code for Turbine Points.
* Holiday Party – Post-race party at the the camp.

Winter Derby (2013)
Date: Wednesday, January 16 at 9:30pm ST
Place: Thorin’s Hall, main gates.
* Horse Show – Participants will be judged on the originality and color coordination of their outfit, how well it matches their mount, and how dramatically it is presented. The audience will vote for the winners.
* Horse Race – A medium-length course with several dangerous cliffs and stairs.

Firefoot Sprint (2013)
Date: Wednesday, February 13 at 9:30pm ST
Place: 1 Twinfall Path, Imrath Ivrin, Falathlorn homesteads.
* Talent Show – Entertain the crowd to earn their votes. Tell jokes, recite a poem, play music, do magic tricks, whatever it takes to impress the audience. (Acts must be family friendly.)
* Horse Race – This course will require the riders to run several laps. 168% (fast) horses will be allowed.

Bywater Steeplechase (2013)
Date: Wednesday, March 13 at 9:30pm ST
Place: Bywater at the Green Dragon Inn.
* Horse Show – Participants will be judged on the originality and color coordination of their outfit, how well it matches their mount, and how dramatically it is presented. The audience will vote for the winners.
* Horse Race – A long course with many jumps and obstacles, including water crossings.

The Fool’s Derby (2013)
Date: Wednesday, April 10 at 9:30pm ST
Place: Party tree at Hobbiton in the Shire.
* Horse Show – The theme is ridiculous, comical outfits. Participants must show off their most colorful, outrageous clothing.
* Horse Races – The Chetwood Cup (Bree-land) and Beryl Cup (Duillond), qualifier races for the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival.

Galloping Gala – Spring Racing Carnival 2013
Date: To be determined.
Place: Festival grounds north of Bree-town.
* Horse Show – Participants will be judged on the originality and color coordination of their outfit, how well it matches their mount, and how dramatically it is presented. The audience will vote for the winners.
* Qualifier Races – Moonstone Cup (Duillond), Mathom Cup (Michel Delving), Mithril Cup (Gondamon), and Longbottom Leaf Cup (Michel Delving).
* Horse parade and concert at the Town Hall in Bree.
* The Bree Cup championship race.

June
* No races or shows due to Weatherstock.


Past Events This Season

High King’s Challenge
Date: Saturday, August 4 at 1:00pm ST
Place: Tinnundir, Evendim.
* Horse Show – Participants will be judged on the originality and color coordination of their outfit, how well it matches their mount, and how dramatically it is presented. The audience will vote for the winners. (Winners: Anidore, Anthemisi and Hrothelm.)
* Horse Race – A long-distance endurance course through “Evening Twilight”. This race counts toward points in the Rider Standings. The top ranked riders will receive special prizes at the end of the racing season. (Winners: Craicwyth, Andeon, Apothecary.)
* Prizes – First Place: 3 gold and a code for a 5th Anniversary cloak. Second Place: 2 gold. Third Place: 1 gold.

The Fellowship Run
Date/Location: Wednesday, July 11 at 9:30pm ST. Hengstacer Farms, Bree-land.
* Horse Show – This is a look-alike contest. Participants must look like Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Gandalf, Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas, Gimli, Elrond, Arwen, Galadriel, Eowyn, Goldberry, Belladonna or Rose Cotton. The first place prize is a code for 500 Turbine Points, plus a choice of 10 gold or a Perlino mount. Second place is a choice of 5 gold, a Perlino mount, or a 5th Anniversary Cloak. The third place prize is 2 gold. (Winners: Beorbrand, Jonwise and Neiahel.)
* Horse Race – This is a relay race requiring teams of three riders. Goats will be allowed. Each rider of the winning team wins a code for 500 Turbine Points, plus the choice of 10 gold or a Perlino mount. The second place team will win a choice of 5 gold, a Perlino mount, or a 5th Anniversary Cloak. The third place team wins 2 gold each. (Winners: Beorbrand/Lifebringer/Neiahel, Baregan/Galdoreth/Zhivaer, Feborn/Mooneraen/Superdangerman.)

Rivendell Challenge
Date: Wednesday, August 15 at 9:30pm ST
Place: The Forsaken Inn, Lone-lands.
* Horse Show – Participants will be judged on the originality and color coordination of their outfit, how well it matches their mount, and how dramatically it is presented. The audience will vote for the winners. (Winners: Elyariel, Dannigan and Trignee.)
* Horse Race – A long-distance endurance course from the Forsaken Inn to Rivendell. All mounts will be allowed, including fast (+68%) horses, ponies and goats. (Winners: Byrcha, Limilniel and Judgejoako.)

The Shadowfax Sprint
Date: Wednesday, September 12 at 9:30pm ST
Place: Methel-stage, NE of Tuckborough in the Shire.
* Horse Race – This is the month in which Gandalf was given Shadowfax. 168% (fast) horses and ponies will be allowed. (Winners: Lifebringer, Artemieth and Beorbrand)
* Talent Show – Entertain the crowd to earn their votes. Tell jokes, recite a poem, play music, do magic tricks, whatever it takes to impress the audience. (Winners:Carica, Artemieth and Godwineson)
* Prizes - First place: Legendary Riders of Rohan + 1500 TP, Second place: Perlino mount + 1000 TP, Third place: Perlino mount + 500 TP

The Haunted Derby
Date: Saturday, October 13 at 1:00pm ST
Place: The party tent in Buckland.
* Costume Contest – The theme of this fashion show is Halloween costumes. This is not a mounted contest; participants will be walking across the stage. Bring roleplay items and perform emotes to highlight your costume.
* Horse Race – A race through the Old Forest and Barrow-downs. Fast (+68%) horses and ponies will be allowed.

The Wraith Race
Date: Wednesday, October 24 at 9:30pm ST
Place: Windy Acres Ranch, 9 Chestnut Street, Raglan, Bree-land.
* Costume Contest – The theme of this fashion show is Ring Wraiths. Participants will be judged on how intimidating their outfit is and how well it is presented. This is not a mounted contest; participants will be walking across the stage. Bring roleplay items and perform emotes to highlight your costume.
* Horse Race – The top 9 winners of the horse show are allowed to race.
* Holiday Party – Post-race party at the ranch.
