Didn't think I would make it on in time to do that tonight, but I did. Thanks, Aedon!

Yes

Yes

Use this area to share why you want to join LMB.:
I've hung out with a few members since picking the game up and invariably they have all been very cool, kind people. You seem like a great bunch of folks. Admittedly, I'm also a bit tired of being pestered by mass recruitment Kinships that can't take no for an answer because I'm not in one. I'm not sure how good of a fit I'll be, but I would love to give you a try. I love how actively you folks are putting on events for the community, and wouldn't mind helping out with that if there's anything I can do.

Player info:

Age Range:

Tell us about any MMO or RP experience you may have: :
I've played MMOs off and on for quite a few years. I started with Ragnarok Online back in '06-'07 then made the jump to WoW a bit after that. Played that from the end of vanilla until shortly after it's second expansion before I quit due to my guild falling apart. Since then I've mostly just dabbled in the ones that have come out since then. I've played just about all of them at some point or another but always wind up burning myself out by playing solo.

As far as RP goes, I used to be really big on AOL's old chatroom RP. I moved onto forums for a couple of years around '08-'09, but haven't really done much RP since then. More recently I've gotten into Dungeons and Dragons, and that has kinda gotten me back into the RP thing, albeit in a very different way than I'm accustomed to.

Please tell us what time zone you are in. (i.e. EST): :
CST

Character information:

Tell us about your character: :
Oh boy, this is the tough one. Here's what I have for my in-game bio:

Gannariel exhibits a fondness for the simpler things in life. Having taken to the musical arts from nearly the time she could walk it was almost a forgone conclusion that she would become a Minstrel for much of her childhood.

She spent her formative years in Mirkwood, living with her family and soaking up as much knowledge as she conceivably could, she developed a particular fondness for history and began using the things she learned to craft stories and songs to tell and sing to her parents before bed.

It wouldn't be long however before she found herself consumed with wanderlust, desiring above all else to see the world she had only read about before. And so it was that she found herself in Edhelion on the eve of the Dourhand's assault, unbeknownst to herself that she would soon be swept up in the events that unfolding and kicking off her adventure in earnest a good deal sooner than anticipated.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I haven't given it too much thought outside of that. I've been pretty hesitant with the RP thing. I haven't messed with creative writing in a long, long time so it's pretty generic. I'll probably tweak it as I go, I haven't really nailed down much about the character yet.

Please tell us of any previous/current kinships you have character(s) in LOTRO. :
None at all. You'll be my first, hopefully!

LMB experience:

Were you referred by a current member? Who?: :
Masonis

Have you ever been to LMB hosted event? If yes, what were your impressions? If no, are you planning on it in the next week? (Highly recommended!):
Oh, yes. I've been to Ales and Tales three weeks running now, and it is the absolute best thing I have ever seen in an MMO. I plan to attend many more in the future, and cannot wait to see Weatherstock next year.

Gameplay preferences:

What activities do you enjoy most in LOTRO? :
The music, of course! I'm taking it pretty slow with leveling, but I am also enjoying seeing this depiction of the LOTR world.

Kinship expectations:

What are your expectations from LMB as a member? :
I'm not expecting much of anything outside of the companionship you all seem to offer. I'm not a very social person generally in MMOs, but, the community on Landroval and the LMB members I've encountered in particular have been exceedingly welcoming.

What do you think your strongest contribution to LMB would be? :
I'm no musician by any stretch of the imagination, but I have some fairly basic knowledge of music(mostly self-taught on piano, with a year of playing trumpet back in 6th grade) and am willing to help out with events and such, or even normal gameplay, in any way I possibly can given my low level and slow progress.

Tolkien:

Have you read the books or seen the movies? What are your favorite scenes or images? :
I read the books in middle school, minus The Silmarillion, and have seen the movies. I should really re-read the books because outside of the general story arc I don't remember *too* much in detail from them. In the movies though my absolute favorite scene has to be when Aragorn and Arwen share words over the shards of Narsil, after Aragorn reverently picks up the fallen hilt when it hits the ground. That scene stuck with me the most, I think.

Misc:

Is there anything else not covered in this application that you'd like to share with us? :
In the interest of transparency, I'm not actually a lady irl. No one I've told so far has really cared too much, but I don't want to potentially mislead anyone. Figured this section was as good a place as any to put that out there, just in case it mattered. I'm also a bit shy and introverted, so I can be pretty quiet most of the time.
