This is so exciting to me that I think something in my brain just short-circuited. |
*laughs* Your reaction really made me smile!
I love these sorts of efforts to keep the classics alive as well. Although I should say that it is pretty amazing what mods and graphics extenders (MGE XE) have been able to do within the Morrowind engine itself.
Would you believe that is Seyda Neen that is visible through the trees here?
And you can make out Vivec behind the pines in this one:
Definitely nothing like it used to look back in 2002! It will be fun to see how far the Skywind team is able to run with this.

As a non-MMO the Elder Scrolls games were always among my favorites. I, too can't wait to see how this project turns out. In particular I loved their free form housing decoration system. I loved placing individual fruit in a bowl on the table, adding silverware, and such. (though I found placing books on a shelf amazingly difficult)

I used to have a ton of graphical mods for Morrowind, but my old computer just couldn't handle it. I also had a lot of modified city mods (Vivic, Balmora Expanded, a Seyda Neen expansion...)
It was my first proper video game (I got into them very late), so it definitely holds a warm place in my heart :)

re: no sky rats = no morrowind

I was *almost* excited - you ALMOST fooled me
then I watched the trailer
not one skyrat (cliffracer) - if there aren't cliffracers so thick in the sky that you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one, it's not morrowind. I no longer believe this mod actually exists - it's all a hoax
call me when the skyrats are in.
:P
