re: Why are There So Many Songs About HOBBITS?!

ANDEON! You should have been there. One of my favorite Kermit songs, The Rainbow Connection, with lyrics so fun!

I have permission from Cellindis and Merlinor, two fine elves, to post the lyrics here.

, 'Why are there so many songs about hobbits,'
'And why do they sing about pie?'
'Elves can bake tasty pies in fair Lothlorien.'
'But pastry songs make an elf cry.'

'What's so amazing about hobbit baking?'
, 'I'll keep the truth to myself.'
'Someday you'll taste it'
'A taste you've not dreamt of.'
'Delicious pies baked by an elf.'

'Who said that every song should be about hobbits'
, 'And why must we all dance their dance?'
, 'My feet stay tangled up, and no one can help me.'
, 'Elves simply weren't fashioned to prance.'

'What's so amazing about hobbit pacing?'
, 'I'll keep what I think to myself.'
'Someday I'll see it'
'The sight I have longed for'
'The slow graceful dance of an elf.'

'All of us under their spell...'
'The cuteness is probably magic.'

'Hobbits have furry feet, and small tiny voices,'
, 'That carry quite loud in song.'
'Elves sing with softer tones of rainbows and rivers'
'And elf legs are often miles long.'

'What's so amazing about hobbits singing?'
'My opinion I'll keep to myself.'
'Someday I'll hear it'
'The sound I have wished for'
, 'A melodious song about elves.'

'All of us under their spell...'
, 'Their dancing, their singing, and PIE!!!'

You say, 'PIE!!!!!'
Tasariann shouts, 'pie!'
You say, 'Amazing!'
Kaleigh says, 'Lovely!'
Cellindis says, 'We love you hobbits!'

This was a wonderful song, perhaps we can ask the elf couple to sing it again, sing it regularly at Ales & Tales. There's something so attractive about hobbits...

*smiles at Byrdie and Anthemisa*

re: Why are There So Many Songs About HOBBITS?!

every time I have to reset my computer, the first thing I do after resetting LOTRO, is make sure I have rainbow connection in my list of songs - sadly, I almost never play it, because I so rarely find a moment when I'm free to play music, but there are some gloriously beautiful locations one can play it in middle earth - I favor rocks or other flat spaces in the middle of streams...

but thanks for thinking of me, Byrdie, and those are some impressively cute lyrics - still, I hope you'll allow that nothing will ever quite reach the personal impact of the original for me

**FIXED**

Oh, I never imagined YOU'D sing it, Andeon! lol But you have to know I cannot hear Rainbow Connection and not think of you. :)

My favorite place to play it is on the rock above Bag End, when there is a rainbow in the sky.

The Muppets are a class act, all the way!!

I *may* even include a free rendition of my Rainbow Connection when I record the misty mountains this weekend...we'll see...
