re: March 11 Ales & Tales report

Ales & Tales on March 11, 2013 was a huge success! Hosted in the Park across the street from the Jail house by the Lonely Mountain Band's own Old Winyards with Galzagar as the Master of Ceremonies. The night started off with several random musicians playing miscellaneous tunes while he crowd gathered. The Old Winyards started off the official setlist with nearly 10 minutes with a mixture of fast up-beat and mellow songs. They were all decked out in their very best musician clothing, as everyone knows is always colorful and a joy to look at.

Melanie wove a tale of sadness called "Family Matters" which we will hear the conclusion of at next weeks A&T, followed by a couple of fancy tunes by our own Galzagar and Kyrian, playing a Lute Drum and a Lute Horn combo.

Nimrodelian Talespinner regaled us all with his epic story, "The Ranger and the Fountain." It had everyone on the edge of their.....grassy seats as the hero battled his way to victory.

Sonca then took the lead in the weekly Mucical Mentoring while Tomrica shared this week's announcements. We learned about the upcoming Landroval concerts: The Green Hills Music Hall Society on Tuesday night (where I currently am while writing this, along with about 30 others, Tuesdays at 10pm. The Eriador Music Society by the Founders Statue in Michel Delving on Thursday at 10:30 pm. Our own BBB (I believe it is Bards, Beers, and LongBeards) at midnight on Saturday near the Prancing Pony - arrive prepared to party hardy!! And last but certainly not least, the soothing tones of Andune, Sundays at 3 pm.

Also announced was the upcoming Market Day hosted by the Sons of Numenor at the Iron Gate on March 14th at 9:30pm, come prepared to barter and sell your wares! The 2nd Annual Bywater Steeplechase will be hosted by the Windy Acres Ranch with 62% mounts on Sunday, March 16, at 8pm in Michel Delving. There is also a new concert, the Bright Stars Saint Paddy's Day Concert in Green Park across from the jail on March 13, at 9:30 pm server time. Wear your best Green outfits and come ready to have fun!

Maddie & Friends followed the announcements with Madaelin, Melanie, and Kaleigh playing a delightful tune named "Souvenir."
Old Winyards took the center stage again, this time Sonca joined Tomrica, Aalloria, Mornawen, and Lhinnthel as they played a 20 minute dance suite including "Vingilot", "Great East Road", and an encore of the upbeat "Putting on the Ritz".

With over 50 in attendance dressed in brilliant blues, radiant reds, deep greens, gold and white dresses, and hats & cloaks of many variety - it was a concert that was filled with fun loving dancing, mirth, many fireworks displays, and good cheer all around.

Please join us for our weekly concerts in Bree, as we bring the community closer together through song and poetry, good cheer and beer!!

They say it is more simple to ask forgiveness than permission. I have stolen a copy of this OP for this week's edition of the Lonely Mountain Free Press.

There was one more performer, in between the announcements and Maddie's trio: Moragaeth recited a poem called "The Three Sisters". But what a great report, Aalloria!

We missed Lennidhren and Byrcha (not to mention Tinki, who hasn't been by in AGES!) but it was an unusual and entertaining meeting. :)

re: March 11 Ales & Tales report

Thank you for posting this wonderful report.

The downside to having the mentoring at the same time as Announcements is that mentors and students tend to miss out on hearing what is going on. And since Aldekim is always unselfishly helping out with the weekly mentoring I fear he also tends to miss out on gathering some of this info on his own for the LMFP.

I apologise very much for not attending this last several months. Please, if any will, vendor that ale! There may come a time when you shall see me!
