re: Suggest a location for Ales and Tales!

We do have sites on the road to Winterstock the two weeks prior in January: Thrassi's Lodge and Vale of Thrain / Arming Cave. Pie Company in Nov. and Edhelion in Dec. sounds good!

Anything works for me, I did remove Pie Company from December and marked that date as free. I know we will be doing Winterhome as well, but we could do a Winterstock Preview in Thorins Gate?

re: Suggest a location for Ales and Tales!

I have a suggestion...... How about if we put the Pie Company on 11/13.... since November is sort of a pie type month lol.... and suppose we put Duillond in February and then made 12/4 a more snowy location like maybe Edhelion or something... I remember having an A & T up there one December a long time ago.... I think the snowy areas during Yule are kind of nice.... just a thought :)

Either sounds good Byrcha. Could switch it out or we could put it off until in February sometime. You are right about 2 visits to Belfalas so close together.

re: Suggest a location for Ales and Tales!

Hmm, we now have back-to-back visits to Belfalas housing, both islands, in early December, which seems a bit repetitive (and now we want to add a third trip to Belfalas). Is the Pie Company visit a Yule-themed party? If not could we swap it, perhaps with the Duillond visit on Nov 13th? Otherwise, our next openings aren't until February.

re: Suggest a location for Ales and Tales!

I've added several to our schedule over the next few months, with some of the Thorin's Gate locations leading up to Winterstock.

Also, we'll want to start warning folks that we'll be visiting The Rift on Oct. 23rd and Mordor on Oct. 30th.

re: Suggest a location for Ales and Tales!

These locations look wonderful, Veri! I think many of them have not been used since I've been an Ales & Tales regular so I think it would be great to add these to our list of places!

re: Suggest a location for Ales and Tales!

Lovely pics, Veriwin. I think 'Ales & Tales' has visited many of these locations before, though not very recently (years). We've even played at the Treasure Hunt Camp *during* the event. We do try to watch out for NPC chatter (I seem to recall a fair amount at Thrassi's Lodge, since it is a quest hub) but otherwise as long as the space is large enough we can handle it -- wouldn't want the audience to get *too* close, you know. wink

re: Suggest a location for Ales and Tales!

I've scouted a few sites that I think have not been previous Ales & Tales locations:

Ost Forod Arena - Evendim - Near Stable

There's an area in the back of Ost Forod that's a fighting arena. There are people along an upper ledge looking down and talking about watching a fight, possibly with bears. It's mentioned in the quest The Hunt Continues: https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Quest:The_Hunt_Continues

Forum Image

Falathlorn Statue - Duillond/Falathlorn - Near(ish) Stable

Beneath the bridge from Duillond going to the Shire and the Falathlorn Homesteads is this area with a statue. Ever been there? Ever notice it? Lore-masters have a reason to visit it, but I don't know if anyone else does. It doesn't seem to have any official name.

Forum Image

The Frogmoors - The Shire/Frogmorton - Near(ish) Stable

Not in the village. Not in The Floating Log Inn. Not even on dry land. Where? Ankle deep in the mucky water. NOWHERE ELSE! There's enough land that is in the water but you don't need to swim. Make it hillbilly-themed. Playing the theme to Deliverance is a must.

Forum Image

Gatson's Farm - The North Downs/Kingsfell - Near(ish) Stable

A safe enough ride from Esteldín. There are beasts and baddies along the periphery, but the farm itself is safe. Other than that... it's a farm. There's a windmill. I guess the windmill is pretty cool.

Forum Image

Kheledûl Docks - Ered Luin/Kheledûl - Near(ish) Stable

Not inside the docks, of course, but just outside of them is a large plaza-ish area. Thumb your nose at the Dourhands while you dance.

Forum Image

Treasure Field - Ered Luin/Low Lands - Near(ish) Stable

Might as well do something there when it's not in use.

Forum Image

Bonfire Glade - Old Forest - Near Stable

Don't be a wimp! It's perfectly safe.

Forum Image

Vale of Thrain - Ered Luin/Thorin's Gate - Near(ish) Stable

Just before Thorin's Gate there's this building. What is that? /shrug A good/safe place for a snowy winter event.

Forum Image

Thrasi's Lodge - Ered Luin/Haudh Lin - Near Stable

Those bears probably won't come close enough to be a problem. And if they do, hey, there are all those hunters!

Forum Image

Mincham's Camp - The North Downs/Fields of Fornost - Near Stable

You can take a horse from Trestlebridge. It's creepy and spooky, but far enough from any baddies.

Forum Image

Silver Deep - Thorin's Gate - Near(ish) Stable

Not outside Silver Deep, but inside. There are a few wide-open areas in there. If you've made it past the tutorial, it should be fine.

Forum Image

Mirkstone Tunnels - Thorin's Gate - Near(ish) Stable

Another mine in Thorin's Gate. It's a bit cramped for space, but there's an area with smoking skulls on sticks with candles on them! Spooky! Good for around Halloween.

Forum Image

The Arming-Cave - Thorin's Gate - Near(ish) Stable

Not a huge space, but hey, it's something new.

Forum Image

The Abandoned Graveyard - Northern Bree-fields - Near(ish) Stable

Halloween/October-ish? Just, uh... ignore that crying woman. She's fine. Yeah, I'm sure she's fine.

Forum Image

Othrikar - The North Downs - Near Stable

A stable-ride from Esteldín. Lots of flat places and platforms. And Dwarves.

Forum Image

Imdolen - Rivendell - Near(ish) Stable

North of Rivendell, going toward the Misty Mountains. Couple of gazebos. You can bug Arwen if you want.

Forum Image

Toad Marsh - Buckland - Near Stable

No need to stand in the water here. It's not like it's Frogmorton or something.

I thought the same thing when I was in the Rabbit Cave! Such a cute place! Also the squirrel village! :D

re: Suggest a location for Ales and Tales!

Heh, all of this has happened before, all of this will happen again... wink

I think we've held A&T at most of these places in the past, excepting Gerebert's creepy home and the new Scholar's Hall (since we occasionally host the Tolkien Professor's gig at the Scholar's Hall, holding A&T there would be a bit repetitious). But it has been a very long time for most of the others (Ivy Bush predates me) so we'll look to add them to the schedule. Delossad might need escorts since it isn't near a stable and there could be trolls and angry-deer nearby, but is otherwise do-able and quite pleasant.
