In case anyone is boggled by the set inventory, it's really not as bad as it seems. Most of the items only go in their own slot, so there's not much to remember. The thins can only go in the thin slots, the wallpaper only goes in the wall slot, the rug has only one slot, and so forth. The only thing to remember is left side and right side on the large wall slots, but even that's not critical.

I will help with the decorating-- hopefully I can get some practice in on Saturday! It looks like there are 8-14 items for each set.

re: Theater Night - Dec 14 at 4:30pm -- Sign Up To Be In A Play!

Good news, bad news, and worse news.

The good news -- Valtharon has volunteered to handle the wall and flooring set changes. He can stand in the back area and swap them out, as necessary. That means me and the other stage hands will only have to scramble across the stage.

The bad news -- My PC is permanently dead. You might have heard me mention that it was having trouble in the past, so this comes as no surprise. I'll be using Valtharon's PC for the show, while he uses a laptop. I'll be scrambling to get Lyrical and such set up on his PC for Saturday. Other than the rehearsal and show, I won't be online much until I can get a replacement PC.

The worse news -- My wedding ring went missing while I was out running errands yesterday. Nobody turned it in to lost and found anywhere. I'm not surprised, as gold is extremely valuable these days and easy to sell at a convenient mall kiosk. I probably should have had it resized to fit better, but well, things have been hectic lately. (FML)

But... Talos was the National Mutt Day dog, so he got a free custom dog tag. I ordered one that looks like the Headpiece from the Staff of Ra. His current tag has the Dragon Army emblem from Ender's Game. Isn't he the fashionable mutt?

And... hopefully the house will sell before the year's over.

So, about stage hand work. Here's my idea. Tell me what you think?

Valtharon will swap out the walls and floors. The rest of us can divide up the set pieces.

The sets for "One Chance Too Many" go like this:
Castle/Throne Room
Tidy Clean
Harlot Dirty
Castle
Tidy Messy
Harlot Clean
Castle

It seems like it would be easier for each person to be assigned particular full sets, that way one person can remove the previous set items while the next person slots the next ones. This might help prevent the items from getting mixed up between sets.

So, for the whole show, if we have me, Aldekim, and Molly:
Molly: Opening
Aldekim: Restaurant (The Hamster)
Kira: Castle/Throne Room
Molly: Tidy Clean
Aldekim: Harlot Dirty
Kira: Castle
Molly: Tidy Messy
Aldekim: Harlot Clean
Kira: Castle

This way, Molly would have both of the TIDY rooms, and Aldekim would have both of the HARLOT rooms. I'll be able to do the announcing of the next act while the furniture is swapping out during the early parts of the show.

Tidy Clean and Tidy Messy have some items in common, as do Harlot Messy and Harlot Clean. Some of the difference is in putting furniture and wall items crooked for the Messy rooms. The wall and floor paints also change out to give things a dingy and dirty look, but Valtharon will handle those.

Molly and Aldekim, will this work for you? Is it too much? Aldekim, do you happen to have a "Pesky Dormouse" bound to you that you can slot during The Hamster? If you don't but Molly does, you can swap the Opening and The Hamster.

I will need to check. I have a couple door mouses in my houses, but I think they are not bound to Aldekim.

I have the dormouse, so if you don't, Aldekim, we'll switch.

I'm so sorry about your ring, Kira... that's really hard to bear. sad

Great news -- I found the ring! You'd never guess where it was. I had been getting red and green Mardi Gras beads for the dogs to wear for Christmas. It must have got caught on the beads and pulled off, because I found it deep in the massive mason's jar. Woohoo!

Glad you found the ring Kira! Will have Yellowcress around for the event as well as Bittercress so if there's anyway I can aid with either of them between musical pieces, let me know.

Wonderful music, Lilikate!

I'm getting set up on a borrowed PC now. I'll see you all at 3:00pm today for the dress rehearsal.
It's very important that everyone make it. The show is tomorrow! :)
We'll be as quick as we can, but let's make sure everyone's comfortable with knowing what to do before we leave.
