I have a Theorbo manual that I should be able to send you tomorrow, or at least very soon :) The orcs of Moria are bad at setting up mail-boxes lol

re: Fellowship Walk Auctions

Many thanks to our most recent donators!

* Danniwyn -- 44 mathoms
* Corulin -- Manual of the Theorbo
* Laerelwen -- 1 Guard and 2 Miner reputation items
* Lhinnthel - 1 Guard and 4 Rivendell reputation items
* Neruwyn - Map to Thorin's Hall

We have completed another instrument set! Well done!

As always, we're in need of quite a few reputation items. Check the first post in the thread for an updated inventory.

Thank you everyone!

re: Fellowship Walk Auctions

NEWS!

According to Myst, the Fellowship Walk will hopefully start sometime in October. This gives us more time to collect auction items!
We're still in need of reputation items for Council of the North and Elves of Rivendell, especially the former.
A Frog and Squirrel animal tome for Minstrels would give us a complete second set.
One Rohan chandelier and two fancy tables of some kind (IE: table with craban or sausage) will complete two furniture sets.

Of course, if we get sufficient extras in any category, we'll make additional auction sets. Last year, the reputation item sets brought in quite a bit of money for charity. The dyes will also be very popular.

re: Fellowship Walk Auctions

Many thanks to our most recent donors...

* Cyntera - 29 Council of the North rep items
* Qiredis - 2 Rivendell rep items
* Laerelwen - 14 Wardens rep items
* Aerilthael - Moor Cowbell manual
* Lindenel - 7 Guard and 7 Miner rep items
* Adanni - 5 Mathom, 27 Wardens, 61 Rangers, and 34 Council rep items -- WOW!

TODAY'S NEWS --
* The bad news - The Fellowship Walk has been cancelled.
* The good news - We can still have the auctions and raise money for charity!

What we need is an online auction site that allows people to bid on virtual items (sites like eBay don't allow this).
Hopefully this is a site where people can bid repeatedly until a pre-set deadline.
I could use your help finding a reputable site to host our auctions. All suggestions are welcome!

Hopefully we'll have the auctions at the beginning of the Solve-A-Mystery contest. This event has a Phantom of the Opera theme, and that does begin with an auction... :)

We are still in need of fancy furniture tables and Rivendell reputation items. Thank you!

re: Fellowship Walk Auctions

How does this sound as an idea -- we'll live auction the items off ahead of the Solve-a-Mystery contest. The highest bidder will go directly to the Extra Life page and make the donation. When we see the donation appear on the list, we'll know the winner has paid. (If for some reason they don't pay, we offer to the next highest bidder.) That way, the money goes directly to charity, no middle man, no percentage being paid to an auction site. Does that sound good?

If you have something you'd like to offer that isn't on the inventory list, please let me know.

Here are some ideas --
* A concert by a band.
* A custom-made ABC music file.
* A roleplay date/social meet-up.
* An escort through a raid/instance/skirmish.

Keli, I believe you offered an Old Winyards concert, but I would like to confirm before I post it in the S-a-M ads.

Thanks everyone!

re: Fellowship Walk Auctions

Yes, if it's a suitable time for me, I'd be happy to arrange a concert. Let's say it's by The Lonely Mountain Band - we can have music from all the bands. If everyone is up for 90 minutes we could have 30 mins of music chosen from OW, BBB, AE.

Lili - I have a question about LMC - is that LMB members only or others outside the Kin as well?

If the time is unsuitable then perhaps Lhinnthel could step in?

re: Fellowship Walk Auctions

The live auction before the Solve a Mystery event sound s wonderful! I like the idea of just having folks bid,then go straight away to donate. It's simple and the charity gets all the money!

I'm happy to step in and help with the concert auction, if Keli is unable to do it at a time the winning bidder chooses.

I can't say for sure, but I have seen her kidnap random innocent audience members and pulled them up on stage envy

re: Fellowship Walk Auctions

Would anyone else like to step up and offer something that people could bid on?

re: Fellowship Walk Auctions

I could use some feedback -- I'm guessing I should auction all the keys and lootboxes in a single auction, since one key isn't really that amazing. Does this sound good?

Does anyone have something additional to put up for auction?
Even something "silly" will work.
After all, the RP date with Aegthil brought in charity money in years past.
Even if it only brings in $5, that's five dollars! :)

Last call...

re: Fellowship Walk Auctions

If we get two more steel blue dyes, I can donate enough of the rest of the colors (as needed) to get us up to four dye sets.

I think all keys and lootboxes in a single auction is a great idea :)
