re: Bilbo's Last Song

I was going over this book list

https://www.goodreads.com/series/58083-middle-earth-universe

and found an interesting little book called, Bilbo's Last Song.

Has anyone read this?

I bought it as a thank you gift for a Tolkien-loving friend, but didn't read the whole thing before I gave it to her. It's only short though. Really sweet illustrations :)

The same text was beautifully set by composer Stephen Oliver for 'The Lord of the Rings' BBC radio dramatization. You may hear it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xO4aaiftLuA

I don't think I have heard these songs before, they are really lovely! Thank you for sharing the links! :)

re: Bilbo's Last Song

I have missed most of the older things, we didn't have much fantasy related things where I grew up :) Of Tolkien we only had The Hobbit and LotR (in a terrible translation), and a bit later a radio drama and a CD with music inspired by Middle Earth, but no songs with lyrics sadly. Internet wasn't really around so we couldn't find things from other countries, but it's really cool all the things you can find online nowadays :)
