re: Ales & Tales Locations Suggestions

I know we had a previous thread, but it's very old. Let's start a new one! I'll update this first post with the suggestions (:

Have you a favorite spot or location that would be perfect for Ales & Tales? Please share it! Locations should be fairly safe for low-level folks to get to. If you've a theme idea that goes along with a spot, also let us know!

    Goldberry's Spring
    Docks on Brandywine River

I love the docks on the Brandywine river, especially on the east side, because the land is higher and you get a great view of the river. Buckland is full of nice places to host a show, plus it has a stable nearby!

I've always liked when we've had shows at less frequented places... like Goldberry's Spring. Theme-wise, how about a series of concerts that will help complete some of the explorer deeds in the newbie areas...Farms of the Shire comes to mind. Also, perhaps with concerts near rivers/ponds, perhaps we could do another Fish-fry!

Which leads to the question: which out of the way places are most in-need for explorer deeds? The Old Stone Ruins in Bree-town will be our first try. Which of the Shire Farms is one that folks miss during the course of doing quests?

Many sites are dangerous and would require a security team. However, we could set up at a nearby location, and tell everyone to visit that spot at the end of the show to finish that part of their deed.

Someone (non-kin) organized an event in the Old Forest with music/stories and led everyone around to all of the flower locations. But heavy security is needed for something like that, and I don't think we'll have that with our usual casual approach. Mood-wise I don't think we want to hold A&T in any goblin camps or spider dens, blech. But some of the safer places should work well for helping folks with the deeds (we could maybe mention nearby ones during the announcements?). Same goes for ATX -- the location itself needs to be reasonably safe (so that folks can relax during the show), even if getting to it might not be.

Have you ever had it on the East Porch at Rivendell? Quite a pretty, secluded spot.

Ooh! We have but it was a long long time ago! I'll add it to the list :)
