re: Ales & Tales 10/7 @ Dolwood Tavern

We'll be at Dolwood Tavern again this Monday evening! (That's 9 Chestnut Street in the Dolwood neighborhood of Bree-land) If you're interested in helping out, please sign up at: http://tinyurl.com/atstagecrew

Make sure to update your songbook as a new LMB music file was posted on 10/01!

re: Ales & Tales 10/7 @ Dolwood Tavern

I'll be there for OW. I should even be there in time for the opening set.

Hooray!
The magical number for OW is 6, but we can make do with at least 4! Come play with us (:

re: Ales & Tales 10/7 @ Dolwood Tavern

I'm sorry I won't be there tonight, hopefully others will step up! If anyone would like to try her or his hand at stage managing, here's what I've been doing:

1. Announce the event in /k, /alesandtales, and any other channels. You can use Notebook or any text program to save a boilerplate announcement... "Hello, friends! Come join us for Ales & Tales at the Dolwood Tavern, 9 Chestnut Street, Dolwood neighborhood, Bree-land Homesteads. Folks are gathering now and we'll start in about an hour [or half-hour, or give the specific time, 9:30 servertime]. We have room for performers, so if you'd like to perform, please send me a /tell!"

2. Ask performers what they'll be doing, how long (approximately) it will last, how they want to be introduced, etc. It's fun to find out if it's someone's first time, or if there's something else that's special.

3. Arrange the first and second halves of the show to mix music and tales, if there are any tales. Some weeks there aren't any tales. Use the spreadsheet to record the acts. I see Lhinnthel has a tab already at the bottom for "10/7". Ideally you'll have 20 minutes for each half of the show... I think.

4. Make sure the MC knows who's next, using /ra raid chat, usually, or have him or her look at the spreadsheet.

5. Communicate with the performers, telling them when they are scheduled, answering their questions.

6. I like to /tell the performers thank you, after they are done or at the end of the evening.

Good luck!

I can try and cover for Molly. Hopefully I won't drop too many things while juggling. hehe

Are you looking for the folder on your computer? For a PC it should be under:

My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Music

For the full path look for:
Windows 7: C:\Users\YOURLOGIN\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Music
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\YOURLOGIN\Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online\Music

The full path may be hidden by default (I cannot remember since the first thing I do with a new PC is turn off hidden files)[/code]

I have no idea where it might be for Windows 8 or a Mac.

I think you have to create the music file the first time, so you would just browse to (my)documents\the lord of the rings online and create a folder called Music. Then you would visit this link: http://lonelymountainband.guildlaunch.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5145705&gid=128176 and download the latest playlist in the top post.

Unzip it to your music file that you just created. Then you'll need to use "WAN Songbook Filler" to refresh your Songbook plugin (if you are using it: http://www.lotrointerface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=380).
"WAN Songbook Filler" can be found here: http://lotro.hanft.de/wansongbookfiller/, at the bottom of the page. Every time you add songs to that music file, remember to use the filler and then reload Songbook.

But, maybe this is more info than you needed, if you already knew!
