Just yesterday, after the 10th anniversary festivities, I was saying to Carysta that she arrived in Landroval and settled into the whole music scene like a warm bath. She even tells some of the in-jokes! I'm like, "You've only been here for, like, eight weeks! How do you know that?" I'm not an official or anything, but I say:

THREE THUMBS UP!

The application submitted by Carysta is as follows:

Quote:
Name : Carysta
Game : Lord of the Rings Online
Server : Landroval
Level : 115
Gender : Female
Race : Hobbit
Class : Minstrel

Have you read & do you agree with LMB charter?:
Yes

Do you understand that Kin chat channel is for LOTRO and Tolkien related chat only?:
Yes

Use this area to share why you want to join LMB.:
I saw the feed for Winterstock on my Facebook so I logged in a tiny alt to check it out and had so much fun I decided to transfer my main characters from Arkenstone to Landroval. Since then, I've gotten to know some of the LMB because I try to go to as many events as possible! My current kin, Seekers of Shinies, is literally my kin as in, it only consists of me, so it's kind of lonely. I was at the 10th anniversary event today and seeing all of the LMB folks together made me nostalgic for the days when I was part of a kin with like-minded folk who are in this to enjoy the lore and have a good time enjoying the magical world based on Tolkien's works. I'm hoping LMB would be happy to have a casual Hobbit who loves festivals and songs, who works afternoon shift so plays pretty late, and who loves to help with crafting and things!

Player info:

Age Range:
22+

Tell us about any MMO or RP experience you may have: :
Well, I'm new to Landroval but not new to LOTRO - I was in the tail end of the original closed beta and have been playing ever since, with breaks in between. I actually learned about LOTRO before it was called LOTRO when the old MEO forums were running. As far as RP experience I'm very new to it, and have enjoyed the little bit I've done so far. I respect people who are very immersed in it and am trying to learn to do more myself or at least not go on an OOC tangent. For other games, I've played RIFT and AoC (and still have active toons in RIFT), and was in the beta for both of those. I've also played a little SW:TOR although not anymore, and I also still have a character in Puzzle Pirates - I'm a founder there too, it was the thing I played while waiting for LOTRO and thus technically my first MMO. I'm Carysta all over the place!

Please tell us what time zone you are in. (i.e. EST): :
Server time is the same as me so EST

Character information:

Tell us about your character: :
Carysta is a hobbit minstrel. She's an adventurer who escaped hidebound traditionalist parents in the shire (the rest is in my bio). She'll reference her 'sisters' (alts) in her bio, and her twin Carystar sometimes makes an appearance (other account) when she tries out some musical duets. Carysta loves pie, and sightseeing, and chicken play, and getting shiny things, so that she can share them with her friends. She's not big on end game and is SUPER rusty at healing (yay, glowy hands!!) but is always willing to help and learn.

Please tell us of any previous/current kinships you have character(s) in LOTRO. :
Currently in Seekers of Shinies (own solo kin), past in There and Back Again (Silverlode), Keepers of the Shards (Silverlode, disbanded for merger), Brotherhood of the Balrog (silverlode then Ark), Freedom Fighters (Silverlode then Ark)

LMB experience:

Have you ever been to LMB hosted event? If yes, what were your impressions? If no, are you planning on it in the next week? (Highly recommended!):
I transferred to Landroval as a result of Winterstock so I'll say, yes :) I come to BBB every Saturday that I possibly can, and I really enjoyed the 10th Anniversary event today! I can't always make events especially weeknights because I work 3pm-11pm Eastern time which puts a little monkey wrench in things. I was at a couple of Ales and Tales because I was off work on a couple Mondays and really enjoyed the event. I've been calling myself a groupie because I follow as many bands around as possible!

Gameplay preferences:

What activities do you enjoy most in LOTRO? :
Going to concerts, and festivals, and questing, and chicken play! I'll even moors if no one minds that I die all the time.

Kinship expectations:

What are your expectations from LMB as a member? :
I would expect to be treated as I plan to treat others, with kindness and respect and a dash of silliness sprinkled in there because frankly, sometimes I'm a silly Hobbit. I am a veteran player so I'm looking for the companionship of fellow players who have similar interests and enjoy food, and fun, and song, and tales; I'm not someone who is looking to get a handout or uber super awesome leet gear.

What do you think your strongest contribution to LMB would be? :
I'm cute! LOL Ok maybe a kin application is not the place but, see above point for the sillies. My main is a guilded jeweller who is working on getting Kindred out in the new zones so that I can make all the fancy shinies. Among my alts I have a scholar and a farmer and a cook as well. I'm willing to help with crafting, or running quests with people, or whatever is required. I don't know that I have anything other than a friendly attitude and a wicked love of dancing that a kin of your caliber doesn't already have :)

Tolkien:

Have you read the books or seen the movies? What are your favorite scenes or images? :
Yes, and yes. Read the trilogy and some of the Lost Tales and working on the Silmarillion. Have seen the extended editions of the movies. I love the descriptions of the Shire at the start, and the whole segment with Eowyn (I am no man!) is brilliant in both the books and the movies (and I cried in the game at that part!). My old kin way back in the day on Silverlode used to say 'to the books!' whenever we had a debate about something, because we all had different resource books like the Atlas of Middle Earth and things (lost my good books in a flooded apartment *sigh*).

Misc:

Is there anything else not covered in this application that you'd like to share with us? :
Just a big congratulations on 10 years of being a kinship!
