Hullo, your application has been approved! Please /joinchannel alesandtales and ask for an LMB officer to complete your interview.

Also, if you'd like to get a glimpse of one of our regular kin activities (music & light RP), we host 'Ales & Tales' tonight at an out of the way cottage in the North Downs (north of Esteldin, southeast of Othrikar) at 8:30ish pm EDT /servertime.

Yes

Do you understand that Kin chat channel is for LOTRO and Tolkien related chat only?:
Yes

Use this area to share why you want to join LMB.:
I've played LOTRO on and off for a long while now, thanks to my husband, and I have always seen LMB on Landroval. I'm passionate about the music system, which is something LMB focuses on, and I enjoy a community that I can help flourish with my contributions. I look forward to learning more about LOTRO, as I still have quite a bit to learn, and when my husband approached me about his interest in joining I agreed that it would be a great thing to check out!

Player info:

Age Range:
22+

Tell us about any MMO or RP experience you may have: :
I have been roleplaying online for nearly two decades now, as I am a second-generation MMO player. My father and I would roleplay in EverQuest all of the time starting in 1999! As time went on, I found myself roleplaying not only in Everquest, but also most every major MMO on the market. In fact, I met my husband on World of Warcraft over six years ago!

Please tell us what time zone you are in. (i.e. EST): :
AST (One hour behind PST)

Character information:

Tell us about your character: :
Thessya Swallowtail originally hails from Laketown, which both of her parents are also from. The girl grew up a caretaker, often minding the house and hearth for her father after her mother passed at an early age. Her father's love of mead and questionable morals gained their household a reputation of ill-repute, for both his shoddy carpentry work and his willingness to take advantage of those in need.

The canals of Laketown are deep, and a young Thessya had her head hung low as she walked by the side of her father; The end of the pier came quicker than she anticipated and into the water she went. As she struggled in the cold waters, begging for help, all she received in return was a bleary-eyed stare from the drunkard. Another man, however, proved to be her savior when a strong hand gripped her arm and hoisted her back up.

The man was named Aedin, an aged Rohirrim who had found his way to Dale. The two became fast friends, as he had recently lost his wife and young Thessya was in sore need of a father figure. Through her formative years, she cleaned and cooked for him while listening to the stories of his travels and learning all she could from the journals and books of his dearly departed wife. Much to the chagrin of her birth father, Thessya packed up to head back to Rohan with Aedin, a surrogate daughter and helpmaid for the aging Rider.

Once in Rohan, she met Aedin's only son, Eadere. The lad was a few years older than her, and thankful for her help after the loss of his mother. The three became a hodge-podge family unit, and went together when the call to Helm's Deep was made. While the men fought on the front lines, Thessya stayed to the tents and saw to the injured, tending to their health and their moral with a smile and a song.

Aedin took a grevious wound, one that had he not been over eighty years would have been simple to recover from. As it was, however, the old man's body simply did not have it in him to recover. Thessya and Eadere saw to him in his last days, children dutifully tending to their father. When he did pass, the remaining two saw to his estate and legacy. Since then, Thessya has remained with Eadere, following where he goes.

Please tell us of any previous/current kinships you have character(s) in LOTRO. :
Previously of Seregon, a guild my husband helped to establish.

LMB experience:

Were you referred by a current member? Who?: :
Nope! Word of mouth from husband, who was recruited by a member whom I cannot recall the name of.

Have you ever been to LMB hosted event? If yes, what were your impressions? If no, are you planning on it in the next week? (Highly recommended!):
I have not been to an official event, but I have seen LMB members play lovely concerts from time to time! I do plan on attending as many events as possible.

Gameplay preferences:

What activities do you enjoy most in LOTRO? :
Music and crafting! Also, skirmishes.

Kinship expectations:

What are your expectations from LMB as a member? :
After reading the LMB charter, my expectation is for those rules to be withheld.

What do you think your strongest contribution to LMB would be? :
Music and a great attitude! Not only do I convert my own .abc files, but I am a consistently cheerful and upbeat person.

Tolkien:

Have you read the books or seen the movies? What are your favorite scenes or images? :
I have read the Hobbit, and seen all of the the LotR movies as well as The Hobbit trilogy. Truth be told, my favorite scene is when Thorin's Company is in Rivendale, feasting at behest of the elves. I -love- food, and shennanigans. This scene has both.

Misc:

Is there anything else not covered in this application that you'd like to share with us? :
I'm due to have our first son in about ten weeks, so my participation may lack just a little bit after Thanksgiving until my husband and I are adjusted to life with a kiddo!
